The Bucket List

Bucket list: a list of things to do before you die, that is, kick the bucket.

Linda has one item on her bucket list – to swim with dolphins. She has wanted to that since she was a little girl, as far back as she can remember.
She will get to cross it off this Saturday!
Linda and I are going on a cruise with some great friends from church, Steve and Kathy. Both ladies will be treated to a swim with the dolphins.

I remember the movie The Bucket List, with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It’s about two men that meet in the hospital, both facing cancer.
Morgan’s prognosis is not very good and he starts a bucket list. Jack get’s a hold of it and decides they should do those things; and since he’s rich, they do it.

I don’t really think I have anything on my bucket list. I wouldn’t mind visiting Tahiti or going skydiving but those are not necessities to me. I can live with them or without them.
I enjoy just living every day. I relish in the presence of my Lord and Savior. I adore time with my family, going to church, accomplishing projects, making music, and sitting in the front yard just staring up at the sky and listening to God’s creation.

It’s not the bucket list that should be so important – it’s actually “kicking the bucket” that should concern you!
The Bible says in Heb 9:27 – it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
This is one thing that is off my bucket list and it is the main item that you should scratch off of yours.

You can die without swimming with dolphins, going to Tahiti, or skydiving. Dying without Jesus is a totally different matter!
Accept Jesus as your Savior and you can scratch death and eternal condemnation off your list.
This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:14-15

  1. I met a preacher, one I’ve admired. Although. I have some understanding of the why of it all, I was disappointed. There is no one , nor any place I’d like to experance before my death. Those things I enjoy the most I have right here.

  2. God gave you life, enjoy it. You are here for experience, so experience, those who do not, waste that life, and the only judgement is from their own, for the greatest surprise was that he was his own judge.
