Num 11:5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt,
In Egypt the Hebrews were slaves. Unable to govern themselves, come and go as they please, or worship as they wish.
I find it ironic that the word free would be used in a slave environment as in “we ate freely.”
Yet many today say have the same attitude and believe they are free – yet they are slaves.
I remember a man told me one time that he was gay. After a failed marriage he finally came “out of the closet” and began having homosexual relationships. He said when he finally admitted that he was gay – it freed him.
And yet sin has him bound. He is a slave of sin but it has freed him from God.
For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. Rom 6:20
Sin says you are free to do as you please but the price of that freedom is death. (Rom 6:23)
Christ says, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36
Do not be fooled by the freedom of sin. It is a shackle and chain that will only allow you to go so far.
Jesus can remove that chain and give real freedom for you to journey all the way into His kingdom.
Abba, only the Gospel can truly free someone. I hold the key to release them from bondage. Give me wisdom and boldness to set others free in Christ. In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN
