Flavor, Preserve, and Purge

Food tastes better with some seasoning. Though there are many different kinds of spices and flavor enhancers, many have salt in the ingredients.

Salt just seems to make things taste better.

Bland has bling with a little salt. Toss on some Tony Chachere’s and you have pizzazz, but it starts with s little salt.

Salt has some great qualities about it.

It gives flavor.
For years it has been used as a preservative – to keep food from spoilage.
Before starting that crawfish boil you will want to put the crawfish into water with a generous dose of salt. This will help purge anything from the intestinal tract of the creature.

If you are a Christian, you are salt.

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Matt 5:13

You should be able to add flavor to the life of others by introducing them to the Gospel of Christ and the salvation offered only through Him.

You know how to preserve others because of what Christ has done for you. You have eternal life; you are preserved.

And, as salt, you are to purge sin from yourself and to help purge it from others.

But just as Jesus said that if salt looses it’s flavor it’s good for nothing – so is a Christian that doesn’t add flavor, preservation, or purging.

Don’t be good for nothing. Be salty!
