Jesus everyday!

It’s Wednesday once again. I’ve prepared for the Bible study and prayer meeting for tonight.

I don’t know where or when the Wednesday evening church meeting came from.

I’ve read that the Puritans had a Thursday meeting and DL Moody had a Wednesday noon prayer meeting but there is nothing definitive as to why so many churches have a service on Wednesday evening.

It’s not a bad thing to do. I don’t think any fellowship meeting of Christians on any night could be bad. My wife often attends a Monday night ladies meeting and she returns home excited about what she learned.

It’s certain that the early church, which was made of Jewish converts, met on the Sabbath in the synagogue and often met on the first day of the week. (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 16:2)

But I like the tone of this verse the best;

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. Acts 5:42

We should not limit ourselves to just one or two days a week. But as the early church demonstrated, teach Jesus everyday!
