Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. Ex 12:21-22

I began to think about when the Hebrews were directed to apply blood to their doors in Egypt. I thought about how I would have applied it.

I would have started over the left top of the door and applied the blood across the top and down the right side in one swoop.
Then I would have applied it on the left side, starting a ways below the top and down.

The blood would look like the shape of the Hebrew letter He.

When I showed the letter to the messianic Jew she responded with Hashem, which is the name the Hebrews call God so as to not use His name in vain.

Hashem means The Name.

So my mark on the door posts would mean my home was protected by the blood of The Name.

There is no greater Name than that of my Savior.

Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12
