All have sinned!

I saw where Josh Duggar, of 19 Kids and Counting, has resigned from the Family Research Council. This comes after his confession of molesting some minor girls while he was a teenager.

This happened when he was 14 years old at the time, according to the information I have read. It doesn’t give the age of the girls but in reading I get the sense they may have been early teens themselves and there are some reports that some of the victims were his own sisters.

While I am not going to excuse his actions, which the police reports called “forcible molestation”, I’m going to say that I did some stupid things when I was a young teen also. Which of us hasn’t?

It is the reaction to this story that really caught my attention.

I saw where one well known gay man asked the question which was worse –

a) himself as a gay man
b) Josh Duggar – child molester.

Let me change the question.

Which is a sinner in need of the grace of God and salvation?
a) The gay man
b) Josh Duggar – child molester
c) Pastor Tim – pastor and DJ.
d) The checker at Walmart
e) President Obama
f) A terrorist

Were you able to get the right answer?
It is G.

Josh has come forward and has said he is sorry for his actions and it appears he has apologized to the victims for his actions.

Now another question – which is worse?
Man that admits his sin and repents
Man that will not admit he is a sinner

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Rom 3:23-26
