Something that many people believe or wonder about is a second chance for salvation in heaven. I don’t believe the Bible supports this point of view and there is scripture to back this up.
I’ll start with this,
Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matt 7:22-23
These are to depart from His presence. They are not offered a second chance nor do they ask, “Wait! What can we do right now to change this?”
Here is another scripture;
Then He will also say to those on the left hand, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:” Matt 25:41
These, too, must depart into everlasting fire.
Finally a look at Revelation.
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev 20:12-15
If a second chance is given – no one is accepting it, else the lake of fire would be empty and the Book of Life full.
In the presence of God there are no atheists. There are none that continue to hope in Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism. There are no secular humanist who still cling to their own righteousness. There are only those that repent over and over and receive no salvation. They have all waited too late.
Not to sound contradictory but you are given a second chance! You are given many opportunities here to accept Jesus as Savior.
Every time someone hears the Gospel is a second chance.
Every time someone goes to church is a second chance.
Every time someone hears the name of Jesus is a second chance.
Don’t pass it up!
