You can bear it!

What ever tempts you away from God is not uncommon!

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; 1 Cor 10:13

You are not special in that aspect! God already knows about your problems and Jesus knows how you feel, since He faced the same.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:15

You may think it was easy for Him. He wasn’t tempted by alcohol or drugs. Perhaps you’re right. But the King of creation was tempted by those that wanted to make Him king. He was tempted by Satan to bow down to him and he would give Him all the kingdoms of the world.

You are tempted with what will work on you! It is not unique to you but it is specific for you. There is no need to tempt you with something you are not already interested in.

I have heard many people say when they fall into temptation, they just couldn’t help their self.
That’s true and not true.

God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Cor 10:13

God already knows what will intice you the most. So does Satan and that’s why he uses it.

God has already made a way for you – an escape. It’s true you can’t handle the temptation yourself but God has provided a way!
His chosen way is Jesus.

For you to say the temptation was too strong and you couldn’t help yourself is to freely admit you did not turn to God’s way of escape for you! When you do you will find that you are more than able to bear the temptation through the strength that Christ gives!
