Christian – part 10

Do you remember the controversy between Pope Francis and Donald Trump? It was during his tour of Mexico when he addressed the issue of Trump’s comments on a border wall.
The Pope said, “I say only that this man is not Christian if he said things like that.”
It did not take long for Mr. Trump to respond with, “For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful.”

This will bring us to our next point.

In the early church the people began giving so much that no one had need of anything.(Acts 4:32-35)
Everyone seemed to be getting involved – men, women, the young, the elderly; even married couples.
One such couple sold something, brought a portion of the proceeds, but claimed it was the whole amount.

Peter, a religious leader, then questions a person’s faith!
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit Acts 5:3 True Christian’s call out sin!

Sin cannot be allowed in the house of God or in the lives of those that claim to be His. Many will call this judgmental, intolerance, interference, or a busy-body. They will claim that a Christian is sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong.

Peter called Ananias on his sin but the time came when Paul had to do the same to Peter.

Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. Gal 2:11-13

Paul pointed out to Peter his wrong doing in eating with Gentiles until some Jews would show up and then he ignored the same Gentiles. This cause confusion and hurt feelings.

Sin must be called out!
