New Every Day

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. Heb 10:11-13

On Monday my wife’s new Pre-K class starts.
She can tell you exactly what will happen.
Kids arrive and many of them begin crying as mom leaves them behind. A couple of mom’s leave reluctantly making it harder on the kids.
The crying last several weeks before the kids get accustomed to the room and teachers.
When next May arrives the children graduate up to kindergarten with the basics of ABC’s, colors, numbers, and how to act.
Next August a new school year begins and crying and training start all over with a new class.
It’s the same thing every year!

Most of us feel like it’s the same old thing every day!

Imagine the priests of the Mosaic Law. Getting up every morning with the thought of sacrificing more animals, birds, and grain; getting all bloody and messy, cleaning up in the evening, and going to bed only to wake up to the same thing tomorrow.

Jesus makes all things new. (Rev 21:5)
When He offered Himself as the sacrifice that became the end of it and He sat down!
No more offering sacrifice over and over and over again.
His offering was perfect and accomplished the need for all time.
Though Him each day is new – not the same old thing over and over.
As Jeremiah said, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning.” Lam 3:22-23
The need to pray, the need to live right, and the need to share Jesus are new every day!
