So Saul said, “Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me.” And he offered the burnt offering. 1 Samuel 13:9
Saul is king of Israel but you find him offering a sacrifice – the job of the priest. Even though he offered it to the God of Israel and not the Baal’s, it is not his duty to offer a sacrifice.
This begins the end of his reign. Only One Man deserves the title of both King and Priest. That Man is Jesus!
If you have a calling and anointing from the Lord, you should not move beyond the gifting God places in your life. If God calls you to speak His word but not sing, then you should not sing.
If God calls you and give you the gift of singing but not preaching, then you should not preach.
God called me to establish Crossroads Christian Center Church. Now I admire many other great speakers for God. I admire the way they present the Gospel, their illustrations, and eloquent words they use.
But I am not them. They are not called to Crossroads.
I can only be the man of God He called me to be.
Just as Saul, the king, was not called to act as Samuel, the priest, I am not called to be a preacher like Tony Evans or a singer like Chris Tomlin.
I am what I am by the grace of God and I desire to do my best for Him.
