Psalms 27:14
Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Great advice! If you want to follow God’s will for your life then it’s essential to wait on the Lord.
However, with waiting on the Lord also comes a time of action when He answers.
All of it requires an act of faith and patience.
A great example is Abram (Abraham).
God promised to make him a great with the continuation of blessing through his descendants.
Abraham had no such descendants at the time and thought perhaps Eliezar, his head servant, would make a great heir.
God rejected this.
Later, Sarah and Abraham come up with a brilliant plan to “help” God along with this promise. Abraham has a son through Sarah’s maid, Hagar.
Again, this is not God’s plan.
When Abraham was 100 years old, he and Sarah had a son together.
That was 25 years after God spoke His promise.
Waiting on the Lord is the best way! Sometimes you wait for a day and sometimes a lifetime but wait, I say, on the Lord.
