Memorable Scripture: Rewarded

Ecclesiastes 11:1
Cast your bread upon the waters,
For you will find it after many days.

I remember this verse from my Bible college days. Dr. Anderson taught history and used it in the morning devotion.
His story captivated me.
He talked about the Nile River overflowing its banks and flooding the fields around Egypt.
The farmers of those fields would cast their seeds on the flood waters. As the water receded, the seeds would end up deposited in a rich layer of silt and mud.
The sun begins drying the field and warming the ground. Soon sprouts of green pushed up through the once-flooded field.
Time continued and the plants continued to grow, mature, and eventually, the grain harvested.

Your decent, good works shall return to you. Always be prepared to help someone in need, without thought of compensation or reward. Good works are rewarded in time and in the most unexpected ways.
