Isaiah 40:6-8
The voice said, “Cry out!”
And he said, “What shall I cry?”
“All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
The grass withers, the flower fades,
Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”
I enjoyed the years with my grandparents and great-grandparents but my time with them was way too short.
I’m afraid I wasted a much of that time by doing my own thing and not just sitting down to talk.
My grandparents, and great-grandparents had sayings, phrases, recipes, wisdom, and instruction that I cannot remember.
Their lives were like the grass of the field and the flowers that fade.
My life is too and so is yours.
God’s life is not!
He is eternal.
His word is eternal.
Our lives in Him are eternal.
I may not have my grandmother’s biscuits or teacakes ever again but I have God’s word, which changes lives and gives hope and love.
