Isaiah 43:1-2
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

I read this verse twenty years ago. It was a wonderful time and a difficult time.
This scripture really helped me. I almost felt like God hid it away in Isaiah just for me to find.
There are many difficulties of water and fire that you will pass through.
Financial struggles make you feel like your drowning.
Anger is a burning sensation.
Water and fire also present two terrible and dreaded ways of dying – drowning and burning.
Both cause panic.
Panic, anxiety, stress, and duress become your water and fire.
Something everyone faces is the death of a loved one. No matter how that person dies, for the ones left behind to mourn their passing, it is water and fire.
God’s promise is to be with you through it all.
