Memorable Scripture: Bethlehem – the House of Bread

Micah 5:2
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”

This verse is more well known from Matthew’s Gospel as the magi arrived in Jerusalem wanted to know the birthplace of the King of the Jews. The scribes came up with this scripture from Micah pointing to Bethlehem or Ephrath.
Bethlehem is the burial place of Rachel (Gen 35:19), the home of Ruth when she was redeemed by Boaz (Ruth 4:11), and the birthplace of King David (1 Samuel 17:12).
Bethlehem means House of Bread and Ephrath means fruitful.
It was from this place the Bread of Life and the Bread came down from Heaven was born to fulfill the prophecy of His birth in the City of David.
He is fruitful for all mankind and is the Firstfruits of the resurrection.
Jesus fulfills the old prophecies of the coming Messiah and Savior.
Accept Him as your Messiah and Savior.
