Matthew 15:11
Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
Jesus knew how corrupt the Law had become in the hands of people.
The rabbi’s, in an attempt to remain true to the faith, constantly added comment to the Law, which eventually became tradition.
These traditions were view as being just as powerful and binding as the Mosaic Law.
The true Lawgiver, Yeshua (Jesus) came and spoke the true meaning of supporting the Law.
For instance, it’s not what you eat that defiles you, it’s what you think and say.
The Bible is packed full of the importance of words. Words come from the heart.
You can eat healthy and exercise and look marvelous. However, if you open your mouth and curse, swear, complain, and gripe, the beauty is consumed by the ugliness.
If you could control what you say you could become a perfect person. (James 3:2)
