Matthew 26:33-35
Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And so said all the disciples.

All of us have good intentions and Peter was no different.
Even though he seemed to throw the other disciples under the bus, he honestly believed himself strong enough to stand with Jesus.
Me too!
I take the verse seriously that says if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before the angels of heaven. Although I think this may be more for the non-believer than a believer.
Nevertheless, Peter and the others all believed they would stand with Jesus to the end.
Me too!
History tells us despite what happened later that night all of them did go the distance for Christ.
I pray I can say me too!
