Matthew 27:5
Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.
Peter denied Christ and cried.
Judas denied Christ and killed himself.
There is no sin you can do where you cannot repent, except unbelief because unbelief will not let you believe.
Despite betrayal, Judas could have turned to God in repentance. Instead, he repented to himself.
He seemed sorry. He did return the money.
However, his later actions display a lack of faith in God.
I am judging Judas by what is written of him.
Jesus said, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” He spoke of Judas Iscariot. John 6:70-71
Peter would later say concerning choosing a successor and new apostle, “from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” Acts 1:25
Honestly nothing would thrill me more than if he really did repent and seek the Lord, yet why would someone just receiving salvation commit suicide?
Do not make the Judas mistake!
Repent to God and ask Him to take away your guilt and shame.
Then live for Him.
