Memorable Scripture: Afraid

Luke 8:28
When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

This is one of my favorite stories of the Bible – the man with a legion of demons.
The demons were terrified of Jesus. Rightly so! They know Him. They know their demise. The demons believe in God and tremble!
This man was possessed and lived naked among the tombs, often cutting himself with stones. No one could keep him bound. He would break the chains that shackled him.
There are many people doing the same.
They are naked. Their sins are not covered. They live in a shameful manner.
They cut themselves, that is, they harm themselves with drugs, alcohol, and other ways.
They are not bound by anything. They are on the loose. They have few commitments.
And they fear God. They do not enter a church. They do not want to hear the word of God. They do not read the Bible or pray.
What is needed is deliverance!
That is what happened to the demon possessed man.
He was found sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind.
That sent fear through the community.
Yes, when revival comes and sinners turn from their wicked ways, repent, and are saved, it is frightful to those that lose their drinking buddies or drug dealers because of salvation.
