John 1:23
He said: “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the Lord,” ’

When pressed about his authority to preach and baptize, John confessed he was not the Christ, Elijah, or the Prophet.
He then quotes Isaiah as an answer.
He is not the only one.
You and I are that voice crying in the wilderness before the coming of the Lord.
It is surely possible He will not return in your lifetime but you prepare the next generation for the same thing.
Sooner or later – HE WILL RETURN!
John’s message was simple, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
It’s still a good message today.
Plus he did not let sin go unnoticed. He called it out and encouraged repentance.
