John 6:52
The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”
I admit the first time I read this I thought pretty much the same thing. It was confusing.
However, Jesus is not speaking literally.
He went on to say, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” John 6:53
That got me to thinking.
Last night we took communion at church – the bread and the wine, which represent the body (flesh) and the blood.
We take communion in remembrance of what Jesus did for us. We accept what He has done – His death and resurrection.
We accept His forgiveness and atoning for our sins.
We also remember He is returning to get us.
Communion with the Lord should be every day, not with bread and wine but in truth and spirit.
Every day remind yourself of what Jesus did for you and that He is returning.
As you eat food today, it becomes part of you – you are what you eat.
Jesus wants to be part of you! To me, this is what He is saying!
