John 9:1-3
Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.”

Sin takes a great toll on everyone – spiritually, mentally, and physically.
It’s only natural to believe a birth defect on a child is the result of sin from the parents.
It is! But not in the way you think.
This man is not born blind because of some punishment. He is born blind because of sin, which Jesus came to save him (and us) from!
I was not born blind or with eight toes on each foot but I was born with a nature to sin and need healing from Jesus just as much as the blind man.
Diseases and illnesses are not good. When God created all things, He saw it was good. Therefore, disease and illness are a result of sin, which is not good.
It is a curse upon humanity.
We were born this way but we do not need to die this way!
Jesus came to remove the curse.
It does not matter if you are blind or missing an appendage, if you know Jesus as Savior, you are made whole and freed from the curse of sin.
The works of God are revealed in you!
