Acts 4:12
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
From another speech from Peter to the Chief Priest and rulers of Israel, he declares Jesus as the only way of salvation.
This did not set well with the rulers, just as it doesn’t set well with many today.
The Jewish leadership, back then, thought they had the key to eternal life.
Just as Muslims believe they have the key.
Buddhists believe they have the key.
Peter, being a Jew, believes Jesus is the way. That is quite a change from the thinking of many others
Before I knew Jesus as my Savior, I thought I knew the way. I thought I was ok the way I was. I wasn’t a terribly bad person. I wasn’t a murderer. I wasn’t a thief. I wasn’t an idolater.
God is not interested in what you are not. He is interested in what you are.
I was an unrepentant sinner not caring about my sin.
Then I came to the point when I realized I had no good standing before God.
This scripture came true for me – there is salvation in no other name but Jesus.
