Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Guilty!
We are all guilty of at least one of those things.
This makes us a sinner by default and the reason we need Jesus as savior.
The moment we committed the act, we broke the Law and received the condemnation.
Even if you only did it once and lived perfectly from that time on; the perfection is marred.
But most don’t do it once. It becomes habit. We regularly practice it.
As a Christian, these things need to become foreign to the spirit and, thus, to the body.
These are the works of the flesh and when you live by them you do not live by the Spirit.
Note the end warning: those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
It does not matter if I am not given to adultery, fornication, or uncleanness. If I have hatred I am guilty of all. (James 2:10)
