1 Timothy 2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
Men should pray.
We should intercede to God for others.
Is it necessary to lift up your hands to pray?
No.
But your heart and mind should not be on worldly matters.
Those things interfere with prayer and worship.
Lifting your hands has always been symbolic of surrendering.
As you surrender to God in prayer you get your mind off worldly things like anger and doubt.
This means of praying is closely associated with the relationship all of us have with others.
This scripture only talks about men.
The continuation of this centers in on women.
The whole idea is if the men do this, then women need to do that.
It’s a working worshipping relationship.
I’ll touch on that next time.
