Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Jesus, as our High Priest, made sacrifice for us to please God. Not an animal sacrifice but one of Himself.
Unlike the animals sacrificed under the Law, He fully understands our condition and position.
The priests of old that made those sacrifices understood it too but could not successfully defeat temptation for themselves.
But Jesus did.
He knows the difficulty of temptation. He knows what you go through and He knows how to defeat it.
By defeating temptation He ended up defeating sin.
As a sinless man He became the perfect sacrifice for sin.
His death for sin was only outdone by His resurrection from that death because none of those animals sacrificed lived again. Death was permanent.
Jesus defeated sin and death and then handed that victory to you!
What does that mean for you?
