Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
I remember hearing this in a sermon in the late 1970s.
The sermon was on God’s judgment at the end of the age.
I can still picture the pastor, with his arm extended and finger pointing up, saying, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Was it a scare tactic?
Probably but justly so.
Far too many take the things of God lightly.
There is no respect.
Forget for a moment the commandments against murder, lying, and adultery.
God is so holy that He proclaims not to profane His very name.
We have so often violated this and all the other Commandments.
There is a day of reckoning coming and if you do not have an advocate in Jesus there is no hope.
You can plead your own case but sinfulness stands no chance in the face of Holiness.
I plead with you to accept Christ as your Savior before it’s too late.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
