Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
Jesus died to set you free but many believe they are free to sin.
He came to free you from sin so then how can you continue in sin anymore.
Today’s verse shows the severity of that belief.
Willful sin after salvation has no sacrifice.
Without a sacrifice for sin, there is only judgment for sin.
Remember, Jesus did not die for your sin over and over.
He died once and for all.
Willful sin demands that Jesus go back to the cross to die all over again.
That’s not going to happen, so there is no sacrifice for willful sin.
The next verse compares this to those under the Law of Moses: Hebrews 10:28-29 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
