James 4:7-10 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

A longer scripture reading for today but it contains a great message.
The key words – Resist, draw near, cleanse, purify, and humble.
I’m sure you have tried to resist the devil before and had little success.
You cannot truly resist the devil until you have submitted to God. Only then will Satan flee from you.
It’s not over.
You must then draw near to God. The closer you get to God, the closer He gets to you and the less influence the devil has on your life.
Cleanse your hands!
Over the past year, you learned the importance of clean hands in relation to Covid.
Although this is not talking about that, the symbolism is the same.
Cleanse your hands and purify your hearts daily… hourly… by the minute!
Humble yourself before God.
King David said in Ps 35:13, “I humbled myself with fasting.”
Though food is the natural fast, you can fast from anything that is really important to you.
God will lift you up.
You will feel it.
