1 Peter 1:15-16 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
This saying is repeated throughout the Bible, beginning in Leviticus.
It is an important truth from God.
He demands holiness from you.
However, sinfulness does not create holiness.
As much as you try, you cannot achieve it.
This is the reason Jesus died for you.
Only in Christ are you holy.
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1 Peter 1:13
When I accepted Christ as my Savior, I became holy before Almighty God.
Though I may slip up, the Holy Spirit reminds me, “as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;” 1 Peter 1:14
This phrase on holiness is the continuing theme throughout Peter’s writing.
