Memorable Scripture: The Lie and the Truth

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

God declares all have sinned.
Anyone saying different is living in deception and a lie.
If there is no need for repentance or salvation, they are deceived.
However, those confessing their sin and totally giving their heart, mind, soul, and strength to the Lord are cleansed from ALL unrighteousness.
If you live in denial you lie to yourself, lie to everyone around you, and lie to God.
I’ve noticed that many people do not deny sin but blame sin.
I’ve heard others say, “It’s not my fault!”
They blame what an uncle did to them or what their place of employment did to them.
Others say they were born a certain way, therefore, God made them this way and it is not sinning.
Jesus has overcome sin so we should no longer live under its influence.
To deny that you cannot change is to make Him a liar. He says you can change.
To deny you cannot change is to set pride in your heart to not change.
Sin is a disease that will kill you but Jesus came to give you life and to give it more abundantly.
The lie says you are okay the way you are.
The truth says Jesus saves you from the way you are.
