Memorable Scripture: Do it with love

1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

It is easy to say you love someone, including God.
Showing love in your actions is quite different.
My maternal grandmother was a very loving woman. Before I left her house she would always say, “Come give me a hug!”
I don’t remember her ever saying a harsh word and I never heard her cuss.
Grandpa was not quite like that being a little more stoic.
Some people do not know what love is because no one ever showed them love.
There are children or grandchildren that are never hugged, never told “I love you”, and are never shown any emotion.
The born-again believer has to overcome that hardship.
We must allow Christ to transform His love into us.
That love should manifest itself by actions of giving, helping, sympathy, and compassion.
Paul said, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Col 3:17
To do anything in the name of Jesus is to do it with love.
