2 John 1:1-2 The Elder, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:
Second John only has thirteen verses and only one that I remember, which is the first section of the first verse.
I always thought John’s greeting was elegant – To the elect lady and her children.
Is he addressing the church or a particular person?
I can go either way with it.
However, if it is a lady and her children, it shows the apostles were personable.
They wrote to whole congregations or a small family.
The entire message of Christ is about love and, therefore, about relationship.
God is very personable.
He wants you to know the fullness of Him, which is done through the Son.
