Revelation 9:6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
The fifth trumpet judgment is difficult to write about because there are so many elements within it.
Today’s verse is probably the one that sticks in my memory the most.
The bulk of the judgment deals with an attack some type of locust that stings like a scorpion.
There is a great description of the creatures in verses 7-10.
Death seems a fitting end for so many.
They tire of the struggle, the pain, and the despair of life and hope death puts an end to it.
Life is short, death is eternal.
Death is only the beginning.
Those tormented by the locusts seek death and it does not happen.
Instead, they should seek God and find life, which absolutely happens.
You don’t need a tragedy, torment, or disaster to seek God.
The sin you have committed in your life is already those things – a tragedy, torment, and disaster.
Seek God today.
Prov 8:17 – those who seek me diligently will find me.
For those knowing Jesus as Savior, death also flees from them – the second death, and that is a blessing.
