Which nature will be nurtured?

child abuseThe innocence of children needs to be protected at all costs! Children need to be protected, not just from the sinful behavior of adults, but from that of other children.

I have always tried to watch my children very closely. I never let my guard down while in the mall or Wal-mart. I made sure they played in the yard.
However there are times when they were out of my sight playing with other children. This is where bad things can happen. Continue reading

Held Accountable

The 18th and the 21st were milestones. Continue reading

Healing from your Hurt

My cousin, Danny, from his younger days.

My cousin, Danny, from his younger days.

Last time I introduced you to Donna, one of my first cousin’s on my dad’s side. Today I’d like to tell you about my first cousin on my mom’s side – Danny.

Danny and I lived a good portion of our childhood two houses away from each other. We were almost inseparable.
We’d both stay at our grand-parents house and spend our days swinging on vines across a gully, building tree houses, shooting bow and arrows, and blazing a trail in the undiscovered forest near downtown Highlands. Continue reading

My cousin, Donna, in the early 1960’s

I’ve always believed in God but did not accept the forgiveness offered by Jesus until I was almost 18 years old. Continue reading

I will never…

never

I’ve heard many use the word “never” over the years.
I’ll never leave this church. I’ll never stop loving you. I’ll never do that again.
The word “never” is one that should be reserved for only God to use because only He can truly keep a promise.
Even the apostle had problems with people leaving him. Continue reading

Ephesians 2:1-10

graceOnce you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. Continue reading

Speak Wisdom

reading-the-word-of-godStephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people. But one day some men from the Synagogue of Freed Slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Jews from Cyrene, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia. None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke. Acts 6:8-10 Continue reading
