The Due Date

The due date of December 20th has come and gone; as has the 21st and now it is the morning of the 22nd.
The predicting of a birth is an extremely inaccurate science.
Here I am, on vacation and awaiting the birth of a grandson. Continue reading

How we feel about Christianity

Last time I looked at how we feel and what we think about Christmas; how it comes from songs that have no bearing on the true weather or things associated with it.
Could it be that many get an idea about Christianity just from what they hear, though it may not be Biblical? Continue reading

How We Feel About Christmas

For you have perverted the words of the living God. Jer 23:36
There is a bit of romanticism and nostalgia surrounding Christmas.
Consider the songs we love to hear and sing.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos. Continue reading

With Haste

The shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. Luke 2:15-17 Continue reading

Pray for the Children

Linda had a Christmas lunch at school and invited me to it.
I arrived a bit early and sat in the cafeteria while she finished up with the Pre-K class.
I know a few of the children in her class but seeing all of them together eating lunch brought back a flood of memories from my own childhood. Continue reading

Last time I looked at the meaning of “viral” as it applies in our world today. Continue reading

Last week I made a picture to put on Facebook. It was one of those, that I’m sure you’ve seen, with a little arrow that points into the upper left corner and says Continue reading

Cherish the moment.

What a weekend.
Linda, Haylee, and I went to visitation Saturday afternoon and, on Sunday, the funeral for Austin, Brandon, and Shaina, the 3 children tragically lost in last weeks fire.
Then we watched the movie The Heart of Christmas, which is based on the true life story of 2 year old Dax Locke, who lost his battle with cancer in 2009. Continue reading

The Promise of Mary

And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. Matt 1:16
The final woman in the begets that reminds us of a promise is Mary.
This young lady had no idea that she would be chosen by God to carry, give birth, and raise Messiah. Continue reading
