The Battle Within Our Borders
Jesus sat down with the disciples one evening and they asked Him a few questions about the signs of His return and the end of the age.
As Jesus answered, one thing has always caught my attention; “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” Matt 24:7 Continue reading
He Knows What We Need
God was with us yesterday, of course, He always is.
Four of us drove almost 4 hours to Fort Worth to look at Federal Surplus generators for the radio station.
We took a certified diesel mechanic with us to help determine the quality and condition of the engines.
We found 3 with low hours and would meet our needs. Continue reading
For Such A Worm As I
Alas! And did my Savior bleed?
And did my Sovereign die?
Would he devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?
That’s from the hymn At The Cross by Isaac Watts, written in 1885.
Some of the newer hymnals say For a sinner such as I, but I think it more scriptural to say worm. Continue reading

The problem with Israel was not Elijah, it was sin. Continue reading
Food For Thought
Consider this, which I have been pondering for some time.
Daniel 9:27 says, Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
Now this chapter of Daniel is a prophecy about 70 weeks of years. Continue reading
The High Point Of Our Vacation (Literally)
Rising up from the ground just north of
Fredericksburg is a huge, pink granite exfoliation dome.
It covers 640 acres and rises up 425 feet above ground, 1825 feet above sea level.
It was a challenge for Linda and me. Continue reading
ConGraduations
Friday evening found us at the Broaddus High School gym for senior graduation.
I don’t believe I have seen the place that full of people for a graduation.
I watched as tears streamed down the face of parents and a few of the seniors. Continue reading
Family
Last Saturday I had a family reunion on my mother’s side.
It was the Hook reunion which has been held the weekend of Memorial Day for as far back as I can remember.
All of the Hook’s are gone now. Continue reading
