giftGetting someone a gift can really be taxing on the giver.

There are for sure certain gifts that you DO NOT want to give.

Guys should never give her a thigh-master or a diet book.

I’m not sure if he really wants another bottle of cologne. Continue reading

valentine1With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I thought I’d talk about gifts.
February 14th has fond memories for me.
As I was growing up I remember getting those little “Be Mine” cards in grade school. Continue reading

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

jesusoncrossSo did I finish with “What’s in it for me?”
Hardly!
There are very few creatures that are not self-serving.
There are some insects and ocean creatures that will sacrifice themselves for their offspring. Continue reading

meThis salmonella/peanut butter thing is ridiculous.
It has come to light that the company knew they had a mildew problem on their hands and still said nothing about it, didn’t deal with the problem, and continued to manufacture the product and distribute it for public consumption.
I know why. Continue reading

guaranteeSometimes I’m not quite sure what to write about but let a day go by and something will happen.
Take Saturday for instance.
First, I am in need of a 6” stove pipe cap.
I haven’t been able to find one in Lufkin or Nacogdoches so I called Ace Hardware in Center. Continue reading

foot-in-mouthI received an email relating the following story.
I check it out with Snopes and, with a few minor mistakes in names, it is TRUE.

Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were.  A certain colonel and lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall. Continue reading

Put On What Armor?

morning thoughts

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

armorAnd a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. And he had bronze armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. 1 Sam 17:4-6
I was talking with someone the other day that kept telling me to “put on the armor”.
While I am fully aware of the Christian implications of that phrase, I am also aware that it is correct to say, “Put on the whole armor of God.” Eph 6:11
Any one can wear “an armor”! Continue reading

There were cute little dresses, diapers, ointments, socks, shoes, and room decorations.
Now let me say that I’m a man and it was a baby shower! Continue reading
