Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. Acts 19:11-12 Continue reading
East Texas
Accent on the Word of God
Although I wasn’t raised in East Texas, I was raised by my mom, who was an East Texan. As a result I have an accent, not as severe as some in the area but I have it none the less. Continue reading
Victory is Mine!
An East Texas school will no longer read scripture during the morning announcements. This decision comes after a formal complaint was filed with the school by the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
That organization says the practice of Biblical readings is not only offensive to non-Christians, but against the law. According to the FFRF, the decision is a win.
How sad it is when removal of Christ from society is considered a victory.
Let me share my victory!
Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15:57
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. 1 John 5:4
In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom 8:37
We sometimes sing a song in church:
Victory is mine,
victory is mine,
victory today is mine.
I told Satan to get thee behind,
victory today is mine.
The FFRF did not win – they lost!
Jesus said this and it may be a bit of a stretch but I think it’s appropriate,
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Mark 8:35-36
So long my friend until we meet again!
One of my oldest and best friends passed away yesterday.
Roy Dunnam and I met in the 6th grade, that was 1969.
He lived behind us a couple of streets in the old neighborhood. Continue reading
Well blended!
I’m not sure I knew this but a step-family is called a blended family. Funny thing is I thought a blended family would be akin to a mixed-race family – a blending of races.
So I guess I have been a part of a blended family since I’ve had three step-dads and one step-mom. Continue reading
Missed the Rapture!
When I first moved to East Texas and got into church. One of the things I became interested in the end times; an interest that hasn’t diminished at all.
Perhaps it because of some of the music we sang in church – songs of resurrection and rapture.
I became engrossed in those scriptures that clearly witness of a great, future event. Continue reading
Seek God in your relationship!

Linda and me on our wedding day in May 1979.
My teenage years were quit tumultuous. My parents got divorced, mom and I had to move from the old neighborhood into some apartments, and I lost touch with the neighborhood kids.
Even when all of us ended up in the same high school, that camaraderie we once had was gone. Continue reading
