Will you recognize Him?

weddingYears ago my mom married a man named Larry.
Larry had three beautiful daughters, one of which was married and had some children about the same age as ours; these were my stepsisters, stepbrother-in-law, and my step nieces.
Mom and Larry lived around Waxahacie, Texas and the children lived closer to Dallas. Continue reading

Anxiously Walking By Faith

I have to tell this story.
Last weekend I took pictures for this very lovely, Godly couple, Roman and Yoe.
She has been a missionary in Mexico, along with her parents and sister, her entire life. Continue reading

Biblical view of Marriage

I saw a video in which someone made a sarcastic remark about the Biblical view of marriage.
What they said was, “Which view?”
Is it the one where you can marry many wives and have concubines, like Jacob, King David, or King Solomon? Continue reading

Chick-fil-A and Marriage

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. 2 Cor 6:14-16
There is so much happening on the news, that it is difficult to pick a story.
Currently one of the hot topics is a radio interview with Chick-Fil-A owner. Continue reading

Do not split what God has joined!

The latest catalyst to the debate seems to be North Carolina voters upholding the definition that marriage is between a man and a woman.
I wasn’t really going to chime in on this but since the President has, I must!
In his interview with Robin Roberts of ABC News’ “Good Morning America,” on May 9, 2012, President Obama said, Continue reading

Today is our anniversary!
33 years ago Linda and I became husband and wife at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in the Norwood Community of San Augustine County, Texas.
However, it did not begin there. Continue reading

Intimacy – Part 5 (become a protector not an exploiter)

I know the subject is of the past 4 days is not popular. It is the opposite message that you get from most media, including TV and movies.
But most media, TV, and movies don’t speak for God; the Bible does!
Earlier in the week I received this private message and thought I would share it with the writer’s permission. Continue reading

Intimacy – Part 4 (willful sin)

Is physical intimacy outside of marriage a sin?
I believe it is; it’s called fornication.
When at least one is married it becomes adultery and it is still sin.
Telling a lie, blasphemy, lust, drunkenness, and many other common every day acts are also sin.
So can someone, which calls themselves a Christian, willfully sin over and over and receive forgiveness? Continue reading

Intimacy – Part 1

Someone posted a verse of scripture on Facebook the other evening and as I read it I had a new thought about it.
The verse posted was Gen 2:24 – Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Continue reading

Change I Don’t Like – Change I Do Like

Last night I was thinking about all the changes around me.
I’ve settled down and have lived in the same house for 29 years and have been married to my wife for 32 years.
In that time I’ve had 2 different jobs in that time; the phone company for 15 years and my current one at the radio station for the past 17 years. Continue reading
