So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold Continue reading

Fresh Joy
So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure! Ps 32:11
Sometimes I just don’t feel like rejoicing; sometimes I don’t feel like shouting for joy because sometimes I allow worries and cares to get between God and me. Continue reading
Sin kills – Confession heals
You spread out our sins before you — our secret sins — and you see them all. Ps 90:8
The couple wanted to join in like everybody else. Others were giving to the church to help the less fortunate. They wanted to help too. This husband and wife talked it over and decided to sell some property they owned. Continue reading
He heals!

My cousin, Donna, in the early 1960’s
Not long after a child is born he/she begins to be introduced to the family.
I was no different. Of course, there’s mom and dad, which I began to see every day and it didn’t take long to get use to them. Since we lived close to where both my parents had graduated, I had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins fairly close. Continue reading
A Year for His Return
It’s 2013 and another year for all Christians to say, “Perhaps this will be the year that Jesus returns!”
That’s an event I’ve been waiting on since 1975, when I accepted Jesus as Messiah Savior.
Though He has not returned in the past 38 years, I do not doubt that it will happen. Continue reading
New Birth – New Life
Last time I took a look at the birth of Jesus, which probably wasn’t on December 25th but then no one knows for sure.
I’ve seen headstones on graves that didn’t have a birth date or perhaps had the wrong one. Continue reading
Exhibit Good Christian Behavior
I’ve thought about this for over a week.
One afternoon there was a show on the cruise loosely based on the Newlywed Game. But instead of just newlyweds, any age couple could be used, chosen from the audience. Continue reading
Not a failure in Christ
There are many times I have felt like a failure. I try to accomplish something and it doesn’t work.
I’m reminded of Thomas Edison.
As he tried to improve the electric light, his ideas just did not work to his satisfaction. Continue reading
Peter and Jonathon’s Unstoppable Faith
This year church camp was different in some ways and not so different in others. I always meet some of the kids but I don’t always get to lead one to Christ.
One of the other sponsors in my cabin had given a heads up on Jonathan, saying he had approached him and said he had no peace. Continue reading
What’d He call me?
I have been called many names in my life. With a name like Swanson you’re going to get called TV dinner, freezer man, the Schwann-man, and Swanee River.
With a name like Timothy you’ll get called Tim-bo, Timbuktu, Tim-buck-tooth, Timmy, Tim-Tim, and my favorite given to me by my cousin, Timpson.
And when I was young my parents loved to throw a few new names in the mix like Otis Timothy Michael O’Shea Gonzalez Pierre Swanson. (That one made me genealogically challenged when I was a kid) Continue reading
