Morning Thoughts from Pastor Tim
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
I got the finger the other day though I don’t think it was intended for me.
As I pulled out on the highway this red Mustang drove by in the other lane.
I noticed up ahead that a Camaro pulled into the path of the Mustang, causing the driver to slow down and then veer into the right lane in front of me.
The Camaro then went into the middle turning lane, which caused me to pull into the left lane and go around the poking Mustang.
As I pulled up even with them both the guy driving the Mustang gave “the finger” and though I think it was intended for the Camaro, I’m was blocking his view and was the only one to see it.
Not long after His resurrection, Jesus got the finger.
It wasn’t from the high priest, a Sadducee, a Pharisee, or a Roman soldier.
It came from one of the disciples.
Here’s what happened.
All of the disciples were in a room when Jesus appeared and talked with them.
Well, all of them but one, he was doing something else but when he returned he couldn’t believe that Jesus had actually been there.
The next week Jesus returned and said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” John 20:27
When Jesus got the finger from Thomas in His hands, Thomas’ doubt disappeared.
So next time someone gives YOU the finger, remember that Jesus died so their sins and attitude could be cleaned up.
