Spilling The Beans

Today I went out to eat with Al & Michelle and Sherman & Nila.
While eating (which involves me not talking) I listened to the rest of them talk and I was glad Linda wasn’t there (for the sake of the rest of this blog).
I was privy to hear about how much “he eats”, she buys “these kind of shoes”, he “eats ice cream every night”, and what “she can’t resist”.
I learned more information than I needed to know as each husband talked about her and each wife talked about him.
I almost felt like I needed Level 5 CIA clearance.
Yet, though I enjoy her company, I was glad Linda wasn’t there to spill the beans on me or tell the others how often I spill beans on myself.

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

But that isn’t what you were taught when you learned about Christ. Eph 4:20 NLT
Several years ago Chris was pulled over by the police and arrested for DUI.
Years later he entered the armed forces only to continue in destructive behavior, including drugs.
He is now 27 and has been arrested and could be charged with manslaughter in an accident in which alcohol was a factor and someone was killed. Continue reading

As we approach cold and flu season, I am always amazed at the spread of these viruses from continent to continent, state to state, city to city, and person to person.
The less personal contact you have with others the less likely you are to catch a disease.
I work in an enclosed enviroment with eleven others but have an office to myself so my exposure to them is low. Continue reading

The Great Depression

Good Morning!
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

My grandparents often told me about The Great Depression, a worldwide economic downturn starting in most places in 1929 having devastating effects.
International trade was deeply affected, as were personal incomes, tax revenues, prices, and profits.
Cities all around the world were hit hard, especially those dependent on heavy industry. Continue reading

MIDDAYS WITH TIM – Are You Tired Of The Mudslinging?

Are you tired of the mudslinging that you hear from the McCain and Obama camps?
Get used to it!
It’s been around for years and has played a part in the party politics that helped shaped our nation.
Thomas Jefferson was attacked by ministers who accused him of being an “infidel” and an “unbeliever.” Continue reading

Good Morning!

I met with a couple of tower climbers the other day. They had come to do some work on our antenna some 600 feet in the air.
I was expecting Preston to be with them but he wasn’t so I asked about him.
“Oh, he fell and #@*% up his hand. Uhh, I mean messed up his hand.” Continue reading

Last week I interviewed Jessica on my radio program.
She lives in Lufkin, and while returning from the emergency room with her son, her cell phone rang.
The caller was a female Obama volunteer who asked if Jessica would support Obama for president. Continue reading
