My Privilege

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:27
Few get the privilege of what I had last night.
As a pastor I get to baptize new believers and yesterday evening it was my 8-year old granddaughter, Haylee.
She came forward a few months ago, when the weather was cold, and we have waited until warm weather and the cleaning of our swimming/baptismal pool.
Before church Haylee caught me in the hallway at home and whispered in my ear, “Gampy, thank you for baptizing me!”
It melted my heart.
And so my grandbaby has been baptized and I praise God that someone so young desires to follow Christ.

  1. When my granddaughter was 3, she and I talked about Jesus wanting to live in her heart. She squinched up her face and I asked her what she was doing. Kelsey told me that she wanted Jesus in her heart so she squezzed Him in. She was baptized 4 years later. Her life has gone in a dirrection I would not have taken her. I trust my God and Savior with her (what else can I do?).
