Belief based on Scripture

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”
So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Mark 3:22-25

The scribes decided Jesus exorcised demons by the power of Satan. This could seemingly make sense but is unsupported by any scripture in the Law and Prophets.
Jesus sets them straight.
Theology should always find its roots in the Bible. Theologians, preachers, and Bible teachers need to base all teaching from the scripture. Granted there are times when you realize something about the scripture for the first time. It’s not a new revelation, but a revealed truth.
Be very wary of those that stretch the word of God to fit their belief and lifestyle with a “new enlightenment”.
Doctrine should line up with scripture. Admittedly, there are differences of church denominations about Communion, baptism, gifts of the Spirit, church leadership and hierarchy, and even the return of Jesus. Each one believes their way is right and true.
With such vast differences we cannot all be right and all be true.
It proves the point of Jesus –the church divided against herself cannot stand.

  1. I like it when things are easy. But nothing really is. Some effort must be put forth to accomplish anything. A niece in OK. contacted me about a denomination. My brother, her daddy, went to be with Jesus years ago. She married & had two beautiful babies. He divorced her. Now she is wanting more of Christ in her life but does not know where to turn. She has become easy prey. I tell every one to read their own Bible then compare their teachings to the Word. If it’s not the same get out of there. I pray God protect her & deliver her into the hands of God serving, Christ loving church.
