Proverbs 6:27-28
Can a man take fire to his bosom,
And his clothes not be burned?
Can one walk on hot coals,
And his feet not be seared?

Many think so. They believe sin has no affect on them or they are somehow immune to it.
This particular chapter and the one to follow are about adultery but the scripture easily applies to all sin.
The Bible makes this clear in phrasing it another way – be sure your sin will find you out. Num 32:23
Perhaps this one – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Gal 6:7
Do not allow sin to fool you into thinking it is benign. Sin is a killer.
However, the power of Christ has overcome sin.
The power of Christ gives you the wherewithal to not take sin into your bosom and become burned by it.
He gives you the strength to avoid sin and to flee from it.
Don’t get burned by sin.
