Memorable Scripture: Raising Children into Adults

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

This familiar verse is one many parents hold onto!
It reminds me of the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32.
This son wasn’t raised to live a life of revelry and waste. He was raised with a belief in God. With that comes the responsibility of prayer and virtuous living.
He turned his back on it all.
I’m sure his day held to this scripture.
The son did come to his senses and returned back home and back to God.

Parents, you are a determining factor in the what your child believes and thinks. You set the foundation for your child to build an adult life upon.
You can raise them in a godly manner and they have a secure way to go or return if they do stray.
You can raise them around cussing, drinking, and drugs and they’ll struggle to depart from it and feel they have no place to go.
Train up your children in an honorable way. It’s not about you – it’s about them and it’s about God.
