Acts 12:2
Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
You have a favorite TV show or series and you fall in love with a certain character.
Suddenly, in Season 2, your favorite dies.
You’re devastated, even though it’s just a TV show.
You can see the same actor in another show or movie.
However, James was a real person and I got to know him well throughout the Gospels.
Now he’s dead.
That’s not suppose to happen to an apostle. It’s not suppose to happen to someone following Christ.
But it did.
And it still does.
Becoming a Christian does not protect you from persecution, trials, tribulations, or death.
Becoming a Christian does promise you that God is always with you every step of the way.
James may have died here but he is forever alive with His Savior!
Welcome home good and faithful servant!
