Memorable Scripture: Praise Him

Acts 16:25-26
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

What would you do if you were beaten up for praying and sharing the Gospel of Christ?
I’d be pretty upset. I’d feel like I was doing my best and God had let me down.
However, when I feel like that, I’m letting God down.
Paul and Silas were flogged and thrown in prison.
Instead of complaining, they prayed even more and sang hymns of praise to God.
God delivered them with an earthquake, open doors, and loose shackles.
Yet, no one left the prison.
In fact, by staying put the life of a guard and his family was changed and so were the situation of Paul and Silas.
The coach in Facing the Giants said it best – we’ll praise Him when we win and we’ll praise Him when we lose.
No matter what happens to you throughout the day – praise Him and see God work miracles through and in you.
